Tequila is a distilled spirit made from the blue agave plant that is primarily produced in the area surrounding the city of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. This region is officially designated as the Tequila producing region by the Mexican government and is the only area where tequila can be legally produced.

TYPES OF TEQUILA

There are several types of tequila, including Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo.

Blanco

Blanco tequila is the most common type and is typically unaged or aged for less than two months.

Reposado

Reposado tequila is aged for between two and twelve months, while Añejo tequila is aged for at least one year.

Añejo

Extra Añejo tequila is aged for at least three years.
